Apple Pie Pastry Deluxe

This dreamy dessert takes classic apple pie to a whole new level. Sweet apple pie filling is tucked between flaky pastry shells to create a warm, handheld sandwich. It's finished with a smooth, creamy topping, a sprinkle of crunchy pecans, and a dusting of powdered sugar for the perfect touch of elegance and indulgence in every bite.

Granny Smith Apples (peel and slice)

1 Tbsp Butter

1 Tbsp Flour

1 Cup Water

1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract

1 Tbsp Cinnamon

2 Tbsp each Sugar and Brown Sugar

1/2 Tbsp Nutmeg

Pinch Salt

Chopped Pecans

Powdered Sugar (optional) 

Topping

1/2 Container Philadelphia Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Cream Cheese

1/4 Cup Cool Whip

1/4 Cup Sweetened Condensed Milk

Frozen Puff Pastry (unthawed) cut into 4x4 pieces 8 pieces

In medium low skillet melt butter and olive oil

Add apple slices 

Season with cinnamon and nutmeg

Cook for about 3 -4 minutes

Sprinkle with flour and stir to incorporate

Add water 

Cook until water is heated

Add sugars, salt and vanilla

Cook until apples have softened about 3-4 minutes (do not overcook)

Remove from heat

Mix together topping, can add to a pastry bag, or ziploc bag and cut at the bottom

Bake puff pastry according to directions

Build Dessert

Open pastry into 2 pieces

Spoon some apple filling on top of bottom layer of pastry

Add creamy topping to apples and pecans

Add pastry top on top and garnish with powder sugar(optional)
